Video Surveillance · Structured Cabling · Multi-Building Deployment
Manufacturing Facility
Project OverviewManaged and delivered a large-scale video surveillance deployment across a multi-building manufacturing campus. Led the project’s integrated design and worked alongside and managed installation crews from site survey through commissioning. Expanded the engagement by surveying, scoping, and proposing new phases as the client’s needs grew.
Role
Key Contributions
Project Management
- Directed installation crews of up to four technicians as onsite project manager and lead technician
- Conducted site surveys and scoped follow-on phases as the client’s requirements expanded
- Coordinated work with multiple departments to minimize disruption to live production on tight schedules
- Led daily safety briefings and completed Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) before each shift
- Managed daily security check-ins, progress reporting, and materials inventory
Design & Documentation
- Refined preliminary designs to meet field conditions and site requirements, improving network clarity and scalability for future expansion
- Engineered a segmented surveillance network, isolated from business systems, to strengthen security, support compliance, and simplify ongoing management
- Produced rack elevations, connectivity diagrams, and as-built documentation that served as the authoritative reference for remote teams
- Documented field adaptations as the infrastructure evolved, keeping stakeholders aligned across a large, changing deployment
Installation & Infrastructure
- Deployed network infrastructure hardware (PoE switches and UPS redundant power) at distribution points across the facility
- Interconnected IDFs over a fiber backbone and extended the network to detached buildings with point-to-point wireless bridges
- Installed 500+ ft of ½" to 2" EMT conduit, strut, and cable supports, including aerial lift work above 45 ft
- Installed, terminated, and tested 15,000+ ft of CAT6 cabling to TIA-568 standards
- Bench-tested, installed, aimed, and commissioned each camera, confirming operation and integration with the video management system
